SEO copywriting with (long) legs | Vacasa
How I rejiggered an SEO post that wasn’t even crawling and helped it run right into the Featured Snippet
BACKSTORY | During a content audit, our performance metrics team identified a high-potential, low-performing SEO piece. The team’s first pass at owning SERP for “why buy a vacation home” did not gain traction. I was brought in to rethink the content outline and rewrite copy a contractor had written.
INSIGHTS
Sometimes the best content strategy is to reimagine and rework what you’ve got. We went from page nowhere right into the Featured Snippet within three months of my rewrite and saw a valuable lift in web traffic. Huzzah!

ABOUT VACASA
In 2018, Vacasa, North America’s largest vacation rental property management firm, started a startup within their startup: Vacasa Real Estate. In 2019, the company became Portland, OR’s first and only tech unicorn, valued at one point at $4B+. Vacasa (VCSA) went public in a SPAC in December 2021 (and sadly for them, it’s not going great.)
